This delightful walk begins under the stern gaze of Alnwick Castle itself. With your back to the Keep of the castle, you walk along Bailiffgate, and keep straight on when the road bears right into Canongate. The narrow road you are on brings you to the entrance to Hulne Park.
The walk meanders along some of the many interweaving paths in the Park, passing sites both historical and curious. At one of the highest points in the Park can be found Brizlee tower. Is it just the writers if Six of The Best books, or does the tower lean?
A little further on, a figure stands at the mouth of a small cave, with a fallen female figure close at hand. The cave is supposed to be the spot where a gang of thieves managed to kill each other in their greed to obtain all the loot they had stolen!
Alnwick Abbey is one of two religious buildings in the Park; the other being Hulne Priory. Used in cinema films in the past, the Abbey must also be one of the most unusual Scout huts in the country!

(This walk is included with the kind permission of the Duke of Northumberland. Please note that access is restricted at certain times of the year)
