A MAN OF NORTH NORTHUMBERLAND -
George Mole lived all his life in north Northumberland, for many years on the farms of the area, and then, in later years, working for the County Council. This book, produced after his death from journals he had kept over many years, gives a fascinating insight into rural life in a particular corner of England in the early 20th Century. In some ways it is a quiet successor to ‘A Corner In The North.’
Full of small insights into the way of life of the times, and George’s gentle humour, the book also contains photographs collected by him as well as a number of contemporary documents.
(At his wife’s request, royalties from the sale of this book go to charity).
